Mark holds an associate degree in business from Colorado Mountain College (Glenwood Springs) and a bachelor’s in accounting from Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO. He joined DWC’s Montrose office in August 2013 after gaining valuable experience at a tax and audit firm, as well as a bookkeeping and payroll company in Durango. Mark specializes in business and family-owned business tax planning and consulting, financial planning, international tax issues, and IRS representation. His clientele spans various industries including construction, healthcare, hospitality, professional services, HOA and condo associations, real estate development and investment, as well as families and high-net-worth individuals. He also frequently travels to DWC’s satellite office in Telluride to serve clients there.

Mark is a professional member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs. Beyond his professional commitments, Mark is deeply involved in the Montrose community. He passionately supports initiatives that foster business growth and benefit families and outdoor activities. Mark is the founding president of the Black Canyon Rotary Club, has served as assistant governor of Rotary District 5470, and is past president of the Montrose Recreation District.

Originally from Eau Claire, Wisconsin, Mark and his wife, Ali, enjoy spending quality time mountain biking, camping, hiking, and cross-country skiing.

Megan is a Colorado native growing up in Berthoud. She attended Western State Colorado University and received bachelor of arts degrees in accounting, economics, and business administration. Megan joined DWC’s Glenwood Springs team in January 2018. She provides income tax services for individuals and businesses in multiple industries and is one of DWC’s primary professionals working with dealerships, real estate rentals, and trusts. She also particularly enjoys clients with foreign reporting requirements.

Megan is a member of the American Institute of CPAs and the Colorado Society of CPAs (COCPA), serving as the treasurer of the COCPA Roaring Fork Chapter. Outside of work, Megan finds joy in being a part of the Glenwood Springs community. She relishes the outdoors every chance she can with her husband and dog, going hiking and snowshoeing on local trails.

Originally from southern California, Kevin graduated with a bachelor’s degree in accounting from the University of La Verne (CA) and later attained a master’s degree in public accounting from Colorado State University-Global. Kevin joined DWC’s audit group in the fall of 2019. Since that time, he has developed expertise in providing attest and accounting services such as financial statement audits, reviews, compilations, agreed-upon procedures, and client accounting services for a wide variety of clients in several industries, including construction entities, oil and gas services, dealerships, nonprofits including country clubs and common interest realty associations, healthcare including behavioral health, and employee benefit plans subject to ERISA audit requirements including 401(k) plans, 403(b) plans, and health and welfare plans. As an audit manager, he is also leaned upon for training and mentoring other team members. Kevin is a member of the Colorado Society of CPAs.

Vennessa’s accounting career started with DWC in January 2022. She believes in cultivating strong connections with her clients, finding a sense of joy and fulfillment in her work. Although she has worked across various industries and diverse clients, she has gained strong experience in trusts, nonprofits, sole proprietors, and small business owners.

Raised in Mesa, Arizona, Vennessa relocated to western Colorado and has established deep roots in the community. Her academic journey began with an associate degree from Mesa Community College (AZ), laying the groundwork for her pursuit of accounting. She briefly attended West Texas University on a basketball scholarship before completing her bachelor’s degree in accounting at the University of Phoenix. Vennessa is a professional member of the Colorado Society of CPAs and the American Institute of CPAs.

Outside of work, Vennessa cherishes time with her husband and children. She actively contributes to her church community and collaborates with organizations dedicated to aiding women and children in need.

Beginning her career as an intern at DWC in 2022, Aubree’s desire and motivation for learning propelled her swiftly through the ranks within the firm. Recently graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a B.S. in public accounting, she has advanced to the role of tax senior in a remarkably short time. Not afraid to tackle challenging projects and complicated issues, Aubree specializes in personal and business tax returns, priding herself on being a trusted advisor to her clients.

Raised in Montrose, Aubree actively engages with her local community and businesses through her membership in the Black Canyon Rotary Club. Outside of work, she indulges her love for the outdoors with activities such as horseback riding, hunting, shed hunting, and practicing archery.

Emma, a Colorado native, originally hails from Capulin, a small town in the San Luis Valley. She moved to Grand Junction to attend Colorado Mesa University, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in general accounting. Starting with DWC in 2022, Emma has taken the opportunity to work on a wide range of business and individual tax returns and tax issues; however, she enjoys the complicated multi-state tax returns most.

In addition to her professional membership with the Colorado Society of CPAs, Emma supports her community as a volunteer at varying local community events. In her spare time, she plays outdoors hiking and trail running around the Western Slope, enjoying quiet evenings reading book club picks, and baking or cooking.

Paul started with DWC as an intern in 2021 and transitioned to a full-time accountant role in 2022. He grew up in Grand Junction and graduated from Colorado Mesa University with a B.S. in public accounting and a professional certificate in real estate. Paul’s interest in real estate has led him to primarily work with investors and farm and ranch clients. He has also gained considerable expertise in family partnerships. Paul is currently completing the requirements for his Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license and is a professional member of the Colorado Society of CPAs.

Outside of work, Paul serves as the Deacon of Finance for Redeemer Eagle Valley Church. He finds joy in both listening to and creating music, cherishing moments with friends and family, and exploring the great outdoors of Colorado.
