Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C., (DWC) is pleased to announce that DWC professional Christopher L. West, CPA, has obtained the Personal Financial Specialist (PFS) credential from the American Institute of CPAs. Chris is the CEO and a Principal of Dalby, Wendland & Co., P.C., and DWC Wealth Advisors.
The PFS credential is granted exclusively to CPAs with tax expertise and comprehensive knowledge of financial planning, recognizing that all areas of personal financial planning have tax implications. CPAs must pass a comprehensive exam covering multiple topic areas and have acquired a minimum of 3,000 hours of financial planning experience and knowledge. CPA/PFS professionals are bound by the AICPA’s code of conduct and must meet recertification requirements every three years to maintain the credential.
Chris says, “My years serving individual and estate tax clients often meant helping them with personal financial planning. It was natural to obtain a PFS designation and expand my expertise in estate, retirement, and other areas of financial planning via our wealth management group, DWC Wealth Advisors.”
During his public accounting career as a tax professional and advisor, Chris specialized in mergers and acquisitions, real estate advisory, cost segregation studies, small business taxation, estate planning, and income tax planning for high net-worth individuals. His passion is helping others find fulfillment and their definition of success in their wealth journey. He is a licensed Certified Public Accountant, Personal Financial Specialist, and is a series 65 investment advisor representative with Global Retirement Partners, LLC. Chris graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from Colorado Mesa University, Grand Junction.
