DWC CPAs and Advisors is pleased to announce that Brooke E. Lewis has recently earned her Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation and obtained Colorado licensure after successfully passing the Uniform CPA Examination. Established by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), the Uniform CPA Examination protects the public interest by ensuring that only qualified individuals become licensed as U.S. Certified Public Accountants.
Originally from Craig, CO Brooke moved to Grand Junction to study at Colorado Mesa University and attained a Bachelor of Science in Public Accounting. She joined DWC’s Grand Junction office in June of 2023 and has become a valued part of the team, primarily working with farming and ranching clients and clients with real estate rentals. Brooke is a professional member of the Colorado Society of CPAs.
To attain a CPA license, qualified applicants must pass a four-part exam with 14 hours of testing in auditing and attestation, business environment and concepts, financial accounting and reporting, and regulation. The test is one of four requirements to attain CPA licensure in Colorado – education, ethics discipline, and experience are also needed. To maintain the CPA certification, licensees are required to take annual continuing professional education courses and other opportunities for professional development.
DWC CPAs and Advisors take great pride in supporting the professional growth and development of its employees. We extend our congratulations and sincere thanks to Brooke for her commitment to continuous improvement, which will undoubtedly enhance the experience of both our team members and clients.
